Silk was born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, and Ilkay Silk, a playwright and director, who also became famous as an actress. Anna has some early memories of attending to play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials while she was young. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Arts at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two shows in its early years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles in the decade following 1999. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an Actors' Workshop at Los Angeles. The couple was legally married in December of 2009. The 10th of April, 2011 the couple renewed their vows at a Jewish ceremony in Fredericton following her conversion to Judaism.
