Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford, is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who was the lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The group did not have an enormous following in the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards it was back in the spotlight. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
